Gathered Leather Bag Miu Miu
Posted on May 19th, 2009 No commentsI still recall the day where spending over $1000 for a designer handbag was the norm but still seen as steep. I wish that day were still here, because now most designer handbags start around $2000 and go up. If I am impulse buying, $2000 can be spent easily. If I begin to use the part of my brain from my dad’s genes, that overly analytical business side, I begin to find the purchase ridiculous. I always let off a sigh of relief when I see Miu Miu bags. Prada’s younger sister features a line of handbags that offer an array of different styles that sometimes closely mimicking bags from Prada. You can get a great bag for half the price of many Prada bags. The Miu Miu Gathered Leather Bag is a large tote bag made with lush mouse colored leather. The color is delightful for fall and the option of a detachable shoulder strap along with double top handles makes it a very practical bag. Best part is the price is not going to make your jaw drop like some of the Prada nylon bags for fall that are over $2000 (that is a whole different story!).

Ostrich Satchel Miu Miu bags
Posted on May 19th, 2009 No commentsMiu Miu Ostrich Satchel,Prada’s little sister wants to make sure to show the crowd that she too can be extravagant and exotic. Miu Miu adorned herself with ostrich, to garner some attention. The Miu Miu Ostrich Satchel is made of lush taupe ostrich leather in a structured bag. The color is delightful for all seasons, but I am not 100% keen on the design. This satchel sports top handles, an option shoulder strap, and a front flap closure. Because this is Prada’s little sister, I expect a shape that will look more fun than serious. Prada should be the role model, the one who wants to be taken to work. Miu Miu needs to be the fun loving sister. Or maybe that is just my impression of the two brands. On the inside there is dark brown cloth lining (come on, with an ostrich bag you need suede or some other luxurious feeling fabric) and a divided compartment with a zip pocket. Dimensions are 9 1/2″H x 12 1/2″W x 4″D. This bag screams work bag. I love that Miu Miu wants to find a place in the world of exotics, but I prefer a funkier bag rather than a serious business woman bag
I am slightly obsessed with Miu Miu in general, if I had loads of money (which I don’t) I would splurge on Miu Miu clothing, particularly accessories. I have been in love with the Coffer Tote for well over a year. We were ‘dating’ for a while but it ended up being a one sided love affair with me always travelling to various department stores to meet it and I wasn’t really getting anything back. This morning I saw the tote with another girl, a nonchalant girl in a trench with Chanel white-capped toe flats. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t easy to see it like that but I held my head high and shuffled further down the bus burying my head in this months Vogue. They’re £525 from Net-a-Porter.com, I am desperately trying to justify the expense to myself…

Woven Leather Hobo Miu Miu
Posted on May 18th, 2009 No commentsMiu Miu Woven Leather Hobo,I have a strong feeling that I am going to nab some heat for liking this bag. But you know what, I just can not help it, I love this bag! I popped into Saks a few days ago and an array of new Miu Miu bags were on display. I glanced over many of them, stopping at this interesting number. The Miu Miu Woven Leather Hobo is reminiscent of its love-or-hate sister the Prada Fringe Bag. The Prada Fringe Bag was in the spotlight as an eyesore to many, but it had this odd little quality that grew on me. And now this Miu Miu bag has me looking and liking too. The brown woven leather is actually quite soft to the touch, guaranteed to become more supple with age. I know, I know, Bottega Veneta is the woven leather genius, but this is not too shabby. And the fringe is only trimmed along the bag. I tried it on and it had a hippie-chic appeal with a touch of Western. There is a handle across the top and the option of a detachable shoulder strap. For all of you who hate it, join Vlad in the dislike of this bag. I may be a lone ranger, but I am enjoying myself while enjoying this bag.

Wooden Handle Tote MIU MIU BAGS
Posted on May 17th, 2009 No commentsMiu Miu Wooden Handle Tote,I am constantly drawn to cream colored leathers. Browns and whites can be harsh at times, so adding a bit of cream to tone it down is the perfect option. And whites do not have to stop being worn after Labor Day, in fact winter whites are perfectly luxe for the season. But I typically opt for a white that is creamier. And the soya cream leather on the Miu Miu Wooden Handle Tote offers a feeling of winter resort. The wooden handle does give the bag a very resort feel, but would look perfect in a more tropical area (like South Florida). The wooden handle may not fit on your shoulder well, and even if it did it may grind into your shoulder a bit. Of course Miu Miu added in an optional detachable shoulder strap. I adore this bag, adore the color of the leather, and adore the wooden accent

Patent Square Tote MIU MIU BAGS
Posted on May 17th, 2009 No commentsMiu Miu Patent Square Tote,What was your first Miu Miu purchase? Actually, come to think of it, I don’t own a Miu Miu handbag… yet. As much as I love handbags, I tend to error on the side of purchasing once I am totally sure I want it. I consider almost all of my handbags investment pieces and I love that most of them have a unique story behind them. When I came across the Miu Miu Patent Square Tote I couldn’t decide if this would be in the running for my first Miu Miu purchase or not. For those of you who know me, you know that I am a tad skeptical when it comes to white handbags. But, I truly love something about this goldtone hardware on white patent combination. At the same time, there is a sense of freshness about this bag. It’s chic, fun, and versatile. Yet, is it enough to be my first Miu Miu? Any other suggestions
