WordPress looks interesting, but after aprox 8 years as an Moveable Type user I just don’t think I can teach myself a whole new blogging system. I’m thinking of migrating The Bag Blog over to Typepad which yes you have to pay for, but I really like the idea of having someone else take care of all the technical issues and deal with all the comment spam prevention etc

Yikes, my comment spam is out of control! I’m looking for ways to streamline the back end management for this site since right now I just don’t have the time to deal with all the technical issues…I just want to talk about bags! Right now I drowning in comment/email spam and need to make a million technical improvements, but don’t have the time or interest to do all the trouble shooting. I have a million bag related posts I want to make but as soon as I open up Moveable Type and see all the spam and my buggy HTML my brain just goes BLAAAHHH and I surf on to another site.

Red Scarf Ideas for Fall #2

I’ve been Googling up a storm but can’t find the scarf pattern online? Anyone know if this exits and where I can find it?

This scene with the red scarf caught my eye and made me start thinking about knitting again so I can make a similar scarf of my own to stay toasty when the weather gets cold. Just Jared has a number of other photos of this scene and a few others in the movie.

Overall, I was impressed with the SATC movie. A few bits were a disappointment (the HORRIBLE makeover of Carrie’s apt…her original apt was so much better) but mostly I really enjoyed it

Leather details Comfy Shoes with Patent

I happily discovered that flats with a bit of patent leather details looked sleek and fancy instead of frumpy and boring!

summer off…of wearing heels. Although I have some cute strappy summer sandals my feet just couldn’t do. Besides summer weather means dressing more casual, so I had some of my trouser pants tailored for flat shoes and I threw my summer heels into the back of my closet!

Ballet slippers at Anthropologie Butterfly

There were TONS left on the shelf and they also came in red and black. If you are in the NYC area it is worth the trip.

yesterday in the sale room at the Rockefeller Center Anthropologie for $40. I love this shade of gold because it is more white-ish than yellow or brass.

Bag Nancy’s Lucky

So far it is a great bag with my only complaint being that it only has one pocket in the inside. (I know I sound like a broken record on the pocket thing, but seriously why can’t designers get this right?) I love how slouchy this bag is, the metal hardware, how comfortable it is to carry and most off all the patwork pattern in different shades of black and grey.

Before I even had a chance to post this entry I happened to pop into the Filene’s Basement on Sixth Ave and there was Nancy Botwin’s bag in a black and white patchwork pattern. It was love at first sight and I bought it for far less than the listed price.

Fashion Herald has a recent post about Lucky Bags. I’ve never owed one, or really seen anything that caught my eye until my beloved Nancy Botwin on Weeds started carrying around a beautiful slouchy hobo Lucky Bag. So of course now I want this bag so I can be just like Nancy (minus the selling pot part…).

We have to admit that Villemot’s “Bally Blonde” is a striking piece of bold but simple art. Though the vintage ad dating back to the 1980s is only a hint of the label’s long history since Bally began over 150 years ago, it is indicative of the simple, chic style of the brand. Hindmarch for Target Anya

So imagine my suprise a few weeks ago when I paid a visit to the Target in Queens Center and saw a whole rack of these beautiful bags. I went with the smaller bag and was finally able to give it a trial run last weekend and was quite impressed. The bag was the perfect size for wallet, make up, phone and keys and I liked the magnet on the front flap.  Although it came out a little plasticky looking in the above phones, the pleather on this bag in person looks much more luxe with the gold trim and gold Anya logo. Better late then never with this bag.

I was pretty impressed when I saw the images for the Anya Hindmarch bags for Target and tried to purchase one this past fall when Target had a number of pop up shops in Manhattan for Fashion Week. Sadly the pop up shop was so mobbed I didn’t even see any of these bags, let alone have a chance to purchase one, and after that I gave up.

Harnett for Target Hayden

UPDATE: I just checked the Target website and the Hayden-Harnett bags are availble to order! I placed my order for the sure to be fabulous Canvas Flight tote  in Purple/Gold and I threw in the Thakoon Zip Back top in Ebony/Purple for good measure so I can pretend to be Michelle Obama. I’ll probably swing by my local Queens Target after New Year’s to check out the rest of these collections in person, but I wanted to get my order for my “Must Haves” in ASAP since both collection are sure to be flying out of stores.
The above bag is the one I have my eye on for a new everyday commuting bag. I almost bought the original version from HH a few years ago when I was on the look out for a light weight bag. Now I’m glad I waited. Here’s hoping the pocket situation in the Target version is the same as the original version.

PS how fantastic is the Sonia Leather jacket?
Speaking of fab Target collections,  I have a sneaking suspicion that the Hayden-Harnett collection could be the best ever. Every bag from the collection looks fantastic. The bags hit the store on Dec 28th, so I’m going to make sure I have some money left over after all my Christmas shopping.

photography class so of course my thoughts turned to finding a great camera bag. After doing a quick search on Etsy I discovered that my search for “camera bag” turned up some amazing bags with vintage graphic pictures of cameras on them
